Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join their team remotely, with a requirement for candidates to be located on the East Coast. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and assisting with various tax filings, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting tax-related financial reporting activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with the filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, including Forms 1065, 1120, and 990, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and filing deadlines.
• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns and support related tax compliance activities.
• Assist with the preparation and distribution of Schedule K-1s and other partnership tax reporting requirements.
• Support various tax compliance initiatives, including preparation of tax filings, supporting schedules, and required documentation.
• Prepare tax account reconciliations and assist with tax-related financial reporting activities.
• Compile, analyze, and validate financial data for tax filings, tax projects, and compliance requirements.
• Research tax regulations and technical issues to support accurate reporting and compliance.
• Assist with responses to tax notices and correspondence with taxing authorities.
• Support special projects, tax analyses, and other accounting and finance-related initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting, tax, or finance experience.
• Experience preparing or supporting tax filings and compliance activities.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Exposure to partnership, corporate, nonprofit, or multi-entity tax reporting preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and account reconciliation skills.
• Experience working with tax compliance, tax preparation, or financial reporting systems preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Benefits

The position offers competitive pay ranging from $21.40 to $25.25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
